The reason that many new Mums ‘lose’ themselves once they become a mum or after having a child is simply because they have had to put themselves in second place.

It’s quite painful. When you realize that you haven’t done the things you truly enjoy doing in a while simply because you’ve not had the time. You promise yourself it wouldn’t happen to you but it has.

And here you are.

And there is no quick fix to be able to feel ‘you’ again after this life- changing experience you went through. Although there are small ways where you can slowly get there.

Just a small reminder to go easy on yourself. Because not only did you just have a baby, you also became a mother.

Do The Things You Love

There is no one way to do this.

You are allowed to do the things you love whilst your baby is with you!

Yes, if you have the choice to do things alone, make the most of it. Although you don’t have to wait to be away from your baby to do so.

For me, before I had my baby, I loved being in my own little zone whilst cooking. It would be just me and my music. And now… I hardly ever cook alone. And it wasn’t easy to adapt. But now I get to share what I love to do with my sweet girl.

I also enjoy a good hike. I’m yet to go out on a proper hike with my baby but that one is on the bucket list fo’ sure.

Put Yourself Together

I know, I know, the classic new mum ‘look’.

Messy, dirty hair in a rat’s nest at the top of your head.

Smelling like God knows what.

And clothes full of thrown up milk on you.

But it really doesn’t have to be like that. It’s so important to make the time. Make the time to get yourself nice and smelly ( the good kind obvs ) and to feel pretty too!

Although it’s okay to feel like the first description is totally you right now because some days that is simply the reality of being a mum.

** TIP : Invite a friend to come over. That way you’ll be forced to tidy yourself up a bit! **

Please Please Get out of The House

”It’s warm inside. I’m tired and I want to rest, its been a long week.”

Orr ‘Netflix sounds so good right now!’

Literally go on a little teeny walk. Make an excuse to go if that helps. Such as going to buy milk or bread or even a sweet treat if ya fancy!

I get it. it is easier to stay home.

But try not to become a turtle

Me personally, I love getting ready to go out just to go to my local cafe and treat myself. It makes me happy. And doesn’t put so much pressure on me because I’m not too far from home.

I so believe in you. And this phase will pass. Ill join you along for the ride.
